FLHPOA MEETINGS
The FLHPOA board meetings are every 3^rd Tuesday of every month at the Lake Villa Township Community Center West (formerly known as Gavin North School) on Route 59 at 7:30 pm.

From the President

Spring is coming fast, and all of us are looking forward to a great boating season! I want to take this time to tell you of some exciting activities we have planned, as well as your responsibilities as members of our association.

Our free movie nights are still planned, though the weather did not cooperate last year. Watch the Spotlite for more info. Venetian night is planned for August, with a food vendor, karaoke, and a band. Watch for fliers and announcements on these and other activities. Our facilities have fared well this year, but all of us still need to pitch in and do our part to get them looking great for the summer. The harbor has suffered less as well, so repair and maintenance should be easier, unless we get some bad flooding. Remember, you may not use your pier until it has been approved by one of your harbormasters.

Like last year, we will likely need a clean-up day, once waters have receded. We also have some landscaping planned for various areas, beginning in April. Please, remind your children, especially the teens, to stay out of any areas undergoing landscaping repairs! We have already had to warn youths for damaging the new seeded area of the ball diamond in Bayview Park. They can lose park privileges if they continue to ignore our warnings.

Please remember, our parks, boat ramps, and harbors are private property. You, as a member, are encouraged to help watch over these areas. If you notice someone using the facilities that you do not recognize, walk over, politely introduce yourself, and find out if they are members. If not, explain to them that the area is private, and they must leave. If you have guests, you must be with them. We need to particularly patrol the parks and harbor areas in the evening, as we continually find kids and teens that ignore the ‘closed at dusk’ rules. We do not want to be known as a hangout area after dark, particularly for illegal partying.

Important Reminders

THE PARKS ARE CLOSED WHEN THE LANDSCAPERS ARE MOWING.

CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY ADULTS WHEN SWIMMING.

PLEASE! NO GOLFING IN THE PARKS. IT TEARS UP THE GRASS AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR OTHER MEMBERS USING THE PARKS!

*Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an Adult to swim at Bayview Park.

*There is a $100.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who vandalized homes in Bayview Gardens and East Shore Gardens early Tuesday morning on Tuesday, June 9th. Contact the Lake County Sheriff’s office.

*The Officers and Harbormasters of Fox Lake Hills are volunteers. Please respect their privacy and do not stop by their homes without calling first.

*PARENTS – Please discuss with your children the importance of picking up after themselves at the Parks. The “Park Fairies” Quit – due to lack of appreciation!
