The deadline for the 2023 FLHPOA Teen Volunteer Scholarship was December 31, 2023. Unit Directors will randomly select 3 eligible teens to receive the scholarship at our January 2024 Monthly Meeting.
FLHPOA Teen Volunteer Scholarship
Purpose
To encourage teens in the FLHPOA to volunteer within the association, to work in our parks and at the beach, to keep it clean during the summer for all residents to enjoy.
Benefit
Earn a $1,000 scholarship to use toward high school or college expenses. Funds will be paid after Labor Day.
Requirements
A teen living within FLHPOA whose family are members in good standing, meaning association dues are up to date.
Duties
- Work from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, a minimum of 2 hours per day (Saturdays, Sundays, and Holiday mornings) = approx. $16.67/h
- Report to The Director-at-Large and each Unit Director (Bayview, Chesney, Orchard) with a time card/sheet
- Become part of the goose poop patrol to clean the beach and Bayview Park of goose poop and litter
- Clean Chesney Park of goose poop and litter
- Clean John Rule Park and Orchard Park of litter as needed
